Hey all, I have the music/video setup for my karaoke set-up finished, and I have the mics. Now, instead of just plugging my Mics into an AMP (which, technically, works fine now) I want to know what the cheapest Mixer/Mic input device i could get is. That is, something that plugs into the PA, that i can put the mics into that has treble, bass, and echo effects, etc...(you know, a middle-man between the PA and the Mics) At least from what i understand, this unit would be called a "mixer". I mean, are there ones under $50? Thanks for your help... M |

You can find a basic 2 channel mixer in that price range, but I don't think you'll find much out there under $100 with effects also. Starting about $150 you can find one. |

Quite frankly, you are not going to find anything for $50 that you will be satisfied with. For home use you may want to look at the Audio2000 line of mixers from one of the online karaoke retailers (acekaraoke, DTSkaraoke, etc). Another option would be to look at the lower end Macke DFX6/DFX12 mixers. Behringer also puts out mixers at reasonably inexpensive price points. However, some find their gear to be of questionable realiability. Make a choice depending on what suit your needs best. The Audio2000 units are very easy to use and dial in a good sound. The Mackie mixers will give you better effects and more control, but are abit more complicated to use. |

if ya want something that inexpensive start looking at the pawn shops or in the music stioes in the "used" sections. maybe an old analog mixer may be just right for ya.... it's worth a try. |
