I know there are many vocopro bashers out there so I'm wondering if you can find an alternative mixer to these.

http://vocopro.com/products/product_info.php?ID=473

I like the slider controls, I like the video switching, I like the form factor (6U spaces, full rack width). My 4 year old 7800 has died on one of the inputs and I'm wanting to be ready for when it goes completely.

Suggestions? (Form factor and sliders are kind of important to me, I could maybe squeeze 8u spaces but no more!)

I should add that the $350 is price point is okay with me too, wouldn't want to spend too much more. I have used 4 mics once or twice but regularly use 3.

Looks like the Yamaha MG124CX is really nice but not instantly rack mountable (I have an SKB 106 case which I use). The top 10u section has a flip up mount for a flat panel monitor using 2u spaces.

Hmm, the yammy looks far superior to the vocopro in terms of sonic performance, there are alternatives to video switching (which is generally not needed anyway when running off PC) it's just the form factor that causes problems. Anyone rack mounted this?

The case:

Is there anything out there that is wider rather than taller and similar to the yamaha?

still looking

I use the MG166CX, but that takes 11U of rack-mount space.

You are right about sonic performance. I bought a VocoPro then a Behringer PMH3000 before I was smart enough to come to this site, I got turned on to the Yamaha and it is miles ahead of the VocoPro and many yards ahead of the Behringer.

I don't know that you have any real good options. I don't know of any rack-mountable units in that price range, at least ones that sound good.
