Right now I am on a high from maybe some good prospecting. I took some posters over to TJ in Loveland and looked at the patio where the Fri gig is. I was clean but had dirty jeans on and it was hot. We got a hair and went beating bushes. We mosied in the big Marriot hotel in Fort Collins and strolled into the sales office and the event planner greeted us. No formaility just joking and talking like we had known each other for years. Our package is karaoke DJ dance or whatever the crowd wants and a 13k HONEST selection that has been tailored over a ten year period for the popular songs and the same with the DJ selection. We were honest and said we were after the wedding receptions and parties anniversary etc. It was a very cordial impromptu meeting.

Then we talked to the cater director at the Hilton. She remarked that we came just at the right time because the party season was approaching. Same thing just honest presentation and joking and laughing. We also hit an Elks club.

Blue Rose on this forum asked me to call her grandson who just moved out here which I just did. Come to find out he works right across the street from our Fri gig. Whew it's been a good day!!!

Actually I dont play roles and talk to people like a long lost friend. With a suit on their first reaction would have been. Oh no another salesman. Instead I immediately had their trust and they let their guard down. In my younger years it would have been stress like going to an interview. This was an enjoyable experience for all.

Side note.. Part of the meeting.. I told the director of catering at the Hilton a true story. I was an original wedding crasher and I told her how I went from wedding room to room at her hotel and got a free drunk. She rolled on the floor.

So the moral of this story is Dont play roles Just present an honest self that shows your hosting talents. IT IS PR PR PR
