Post subject:  CAVS causing terrible feedback on BOSE system

I have a CAVS, a separate cdg player, and a computer all going through a switch to my tonematch on my BOSE L1 system. When I switch to the CAVS, I get a terrible continuous noise out of the speakers. It doesn't happen from the player or computer. It isn't the BOSE because it did it with my last speaker system also. It's more pronouced and louder with the BOSE system. I've tried moving the speakers as far away from the CAVS as possible, but nothing helps......help me please!

Maybe try a ground lift on the CAVS unit?
Maybe try a ground lift on the whole setup?
Not sure if that's the noise you're referring to, though.

Not sure what a ground lift is.... it only happens when I switch to the CAVS machine. The cdg player and computer are fine. I'm thinking it must be some type of setting in the CAVS or maybe I need to hook it up differently. It is not feedback. It is a continuous irritating noise. When the music is loud it covers it...

I was experiencing a annoying buzz through my system due to the s-video cord that came from my pc to the T.V. I got rid of the buzz by using a ground loop isolator. It is and RCA stereo audio cord that eliminates ground loop noise. Here is the link for Radio Shack and the product.

IF the CAVs has a two-prong plug with the prongs both the same size (unlikely but possible) try turning the plug so the prongs go in the opposite holes. This might help the problem.

could be a bad cord as well...also had this sort of thing happen to an older player I used to have. That turned out to be a "Cold" solder joint where the rca's connected in the back. had to re-solder the rca connections inside the player...
