...to keep my big fat mouth shut! I went to the Big Bend car show today and then left to see the GTO show at Salentine. I was talking to an older couple who were at the show. They recognized me and asked me about the DairyQueen/Jetz show and if it was still going on this year. (I DJ that cruise night) I said yes and it's going to continue thru the first two weeks in September. Somehow the conversation wound up on the subject of the GTO show DJ and I said the guy (who fancies himself an Elvis impersonator) cannot sing. He sang his Elvis stuff at car shows with a karaoke set up. (He needed the monitor for the words) He used to DJ and sing at DQ/Jetz every third Thursday, and I had the other three. Holy crap!!! The woman says "Hey!, that's my brother you are talking about". At that time I put the final nail in that coffin by saying he wasn't that great of a DJ, neither. I was on the Fail Train all the way to the last station by this time. My GF just stood there with her mouth wide open in amazement. I am a very non-confrontational person most of the time, and yes I have my opinions about stuff which I voice, but generally, I'm easy going. I think I even surprised myself here. His sister still goes on telling me how he is the Cantor at is church and he's in the choir and he gave hundreds of dollars to an unemployed person in his church and went on and on about how wonderful he was as a human being. I says that is great, not saying he isn't, but he still is not a good singer. (just keep hammering those nails into that coffin) Then they bring up Micheal Jackson saying how great of a humanitarian he was and all that. I never said anything about MJ. They were both wearing matching MJ King Of Pop t shirts, BTW. Was I off my meds? Am I going to burn in Hell for this? Have you ever had a moment like this? BTW, I never claimed to be the greatest DJ. |

I have so many of them that it's hard to choose which one to retell. So I won't! |

Well.. I learned a good lesson about 20 years ago. Something happened at my current job, that made me want to find a new job. I started to hit the local Job Agencies, and one person who interviewed me asked if I knew a "Mr. Smith" at my company. When he mentioned the guy's name, I said that, "He is one of the reasons that I want to leave my current place. He is such an Air-Head and a waste of space, and we have to work twice as hard to get the work done in the night." The next week, when I was at work, 'Mr. Smith' came up to me, and said, "I heard you met 'Mr. Jones'." Picture that Deer in the headlights look from me.... "Uh... Uh... Uh.... How did you know about this?" "I talk to him every week or so" "Oh? What'd he say? "Just that you were there looking for a new job." "Anything else?" "No." Needless to say, I was fuming that this Job Agent even mentioned the fact that I was looking for a new job to a co-worker of mine. BUT, I did learn to watch out when I bad-mouth someone, because it will eventually come back and bite me in the ..... |

Never bad-mouth a current or past employer unless you don't care about it getting back to him/her. Don't bad-mouth somebody to another person whom you don't know. Again, unless you don't care about said criticism getting back to that person. Its a small world after all... |

If you're Southern, you just add "bless his heart" and it all cancels out. |

Okay I remember one--I once wrote an email to my boyfriend complaining about some meddling by his mother and accidently sent it to her instead. Does that count? |

roflmao! Too true... I tend to stick with "if you can't say something nice...." If asked, I will try my best to find something positive to say... sometimes that's a challenge. |
