Thursday was a little crazy. Had a group of 15 show up at the end all drunked up, one guy offered me a free tattoo to stay late and offered me $20 to let him sing one last song. Sorry, I shut down at 1 and get up at 4 to go to work in the mornings.
Several hours into the show, a patron came up to me while a gentleman was singing (new singer, very good singer too) and then this young lady came up to me with one of my books in her hands. She had the front cover and the back cover bent backwards touching each other like you would hold a phone book in one hand. She pointed her finger in the book and said "I want to hear this song." I said "ok I need you to fill out a song slip with the song name, artist and your name and submit to me and we will get you in the rotation." She said "fu56 that, I just want to hear the song." I said, "ok you don't want to sing, you want to hear someone sing it, in that case you will need to find someone willing to sing it and have them submit the request." She said, "fu56 that, I just want to hear it."
Ok I thought, here we go. So I said "do you just want me to play the song and no one sings the lyrics? Someone will need to request and sing the song, that is how our show works." So then she said in a very loud voice, loud enough for the current singer to hear "ok so we will just keep listening to this shi55y fu56ing music." She said this 3 times and pointed at the singer during one of the 3 times. Before I could tell her to get off the stage, off she went to the other room. She didn't come back.
Needless to say, I was furious. Since she didn't come back, I let it go for the time being and discussed it with the owner when I tore down last night.
Considering I was totally professional and nice to her, her behavior and comments were way out of line and if the situation arises again of a similar nature, they will not being staying in the black room any more that night.
Some people just should not be allowed in public.

I can hear myself saying, "You don't have to stay here and listen to it. Be our guest and remove yourself."

Hey, ripman! I know a Thursday jerk that could date her. I bet they'd get along really well. Either that or they will be so self absorbed that they won't know the other is even there. Either way, we can get them both out of our hair!

You gotta love those young, attractive ladies that have never been told no in their lives starting with their fathers. Those are my favorites to tell to get the hell out if they don't want to stick with the program.
Always good to hear that I am not the only one that has to deal with these brats.

i had a girl on friday so drunk and she forgot to give me a song. i told her i needed a song number, she told me she wanted to sing "anything" so i thought about it, evil grin, and decided on "Dancing Queen" by ABBA. it was hopeless but the crowd helped with the song. it was just funny.

ah yes.. Nothing like the little princesses that come out...Good thing she didn't keep coming back. You could have pi$$ed her off by playing part of the song as filler...
StevieD... that is funny...Too bad there is not a song called "Anything"

Rip, as soon as they say "hear it" I know they are talking about playing regular music.
"- babe, if you want to sing go ahead, but I'm not playing it."
"Why not?"
"Because, just like every friday night, - sweetheart. The DJ is tomorrow night, why don't you come back then. Thanks."

I like Iisis' response, play a chunk of it for filer...
My response to the brain dead is "I'll see what i can do." Then give em the big thumb up, and a cheeseeeeeeeee big grin. Usually they are TOO drunk and won't remember anything they did/said in 15 mins.

...do you make them stand with their nose in the corner? I would consider a good spanking but they might like that.
