Hey, everyone,

I've been listening to many of you already and this is the first time I have registered and posted something. There is a lot of talent here.

I've been singing since I was a little girl. My mom was a singer and we both sang together for weddings for most of my life. I majored in music in college and I was in a small band for a while in my 20's. I also was involved with theater through high school and college.

Then, I got married and had my child and that kinda put a damper on my performing side. I miss singing for an audience so here I am.

I love all kinds of music however, my favorites are big band, oldies, and broadway. My voice is probably most suited for oldies and "torch" songs.

I am excited about getting to know the people on this board!

Welcome to our little corner of cyberspace. :D

I know how it is growing up singing and performing then having it stop cold... but in my case I also had a spouse at the time who enjoyed belittleing me any way she could... she crushed my self esteem when it came to my singing.... took me quite a while (and a good amount of liquid courage) to rebuild my confidance after the divorce.

If singing is your passion, don't ever let that fire go out... at worst, buy a cheap home unit and fire it up a couple times a week.. at best, get a sitter once a week and have a mommy daddy date night at your local karaoke spot!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Tarzan, I have a system at home and I love it. I'm trying to figure out how to record so that I can post some songs here.

Alas, I am a single mom now - my ex was not real supportive either. You are so right - don't let them get to us!

I'm looking forward to getting to know people here.

Hi Cinger,
I want to take a moment and wish you welcome to SS. I will have to drop in on you Cinger. I see you've been singing all your life. Mom too!!! I use to be in a small band years ago too. I now enjoy periodic song leading and psalmist for our church. Lots of people there too. Welcome, and don't forget to let Mom know she can sing on here too.. =) Goodnight now.. ~Mark~ :)

Mark,

I posted my first song yesterday - It's "Happy Days Are Here Again." I would welcome your feedback.

Alas, my mom has passed away. She had a huge powerful voice - like Streisand - she could have easily gone pro. I miss her alot because she was my support and musical mentor. We shared a strong passion for music and I have yet to find someone new to share my passion.

Thanks for your kind words and warm welcome.

Cindy
