Post subject: | Help with Numark KMX-02 |
I recently purchased a Numark KMX-02 mixer for my karaoke shows to replace my RSQ-333 I was using. I LOVE the mixer but my problem with it is that every now and then I get a CDG (eg. Nutech CDG) and it has the vocals added to the disc which should NOT be heard. They are NOT the 6+6 discs. With the RSQ I could just hit a button that would remove them. On the Numark I can't seem to get the vocals removed. Can anyone help??? Thanks! |

Those are multiplex disc where the vocal is normally recorded on just the right channel. You will need a player capable of just playing the left channel to get rid of the vocal. Your player does not seem to have that feature. The other way to remove the vocal is to hard pan the music to the left. Can you do that with your mixer? |

I think I got the best I can do with this mixer. I have it on stereo, so I just turned off the main right speaker letting only the left speaker play and the vocals were gone. The mic is still heard over that speaker. Unfortunately the audience will only hear 1 speaker but, rather than shut the disc down this seems to be the only solution. This only happens on a few of Nutech or Backstage discs which are NOT multiplex(or advertised as such). I use Yorkville NX55P's which are powerful for the small gigs I play, as well as a Yorkville 200watt sub. Thanks for your help. |

Go thru and remove any of the discs that have the vocals on the song. I'm guessing they're older titles and you could replace them with other (maybe) better versions for a small cost ..just a suggestion |

Hi, I have several Nutech discs which are ALL multiplex. My Solution To Multiplex: CDGFix Super Simply Load a Disc/Track(s), Click One Button... COMPLETELY Remove Vocal Track! Create a New Disc! PERFECT EVERYTIME! Now you don't have to jump through Hoops and Barrels and Over work one speaker..... Kind Regards, sw00000p |
