This has nothing to do with Karaoke, but I thought I'd ask here since everyone here is so helpful.
I run our local pool (billiards) league and we currently run with a standard handicapping system, which means the most any player can get in points is 10, 1 for each ball down, but 3 for the 8. The losing player can get 7 at most.
We want to move to a handicapping system of 17. This will mean that the winner will not only get the 10 for winning, but also one point for each of the opponent's balls they have down. The loser's available points will remain at 7.
Here's the problem.
We run our stats program with MS Access 2003.
The program is designed to avoid mistakes and will not let me enter more than 10 for the winner. I barely know how to run the program as it stands, and definitely don't know how to change the formula for the points.
The writer of the program left the league long ago and is no longer available to help.
Can anyone help me?
I'd be more than willing to send the .mdb file if it will help.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers!

I can't thank you enough. You have changed our league for the better. It has to be the single best change since the league started 12 years ago. I can't stress enough how grateful I am to you for your help. And fast, too!
I am truly amazed.
Just wish I knew how to do it it myself :? :| I just may have to start learning it.
Cheers!

you're more than welcome :) I enjoyed helping you out :) and now even I'm excited for your season LOL.

As far as learning it..

I found the book I started off with learning Access on.. it's
Microsoft® Office Access 2003 Step by Step (Step By Step (Microsoft))

You might be able to pick it up cheap somewhere and maybe that will help give some basics if you're interested.

good luck! :)
