I just use the history on my sax and dotty show presenter ,it saves the song singer and key if you set one.
Many of the other hosting softwares do the same.

It will also save the singer list in the queue even if you close the program which sounds like exactly what you want....

My S & D doesn't have singer memory feature. What version are you using. I'm on 2.2

 I agree with you. :D

I wish the version we use had singer history, but it doesn't and Version 3 does not appeal to me either, even though it does have singer history, that alone is not enough to make me put up with its layout.

All of the karaoke programs that automatically store singers are just using macros and GUIs over a regular-ol' database/spreadsheet.

If you really wanted to, you could take all of your request slips from your regulars and enter them into MS Excel or MS Works (or OpenOffice equivilents for FREE) and get the same result, including tons of sort options.

If you are disc-based, however, I think the easiest thing to do is just go buy a 3x5 card organizer box and put your regular's slips in the box alphabetically. I did this for years, and the second a regular singer walked in the door, I would pull their slips from the box and go hand them to them, then they would give them back to me at the end of the show. Saves a ton of time and a ton of paper, plus makes the regulars feel warm and fuzzy.

Is there a way to incorporate these into our version of Sax & Dottys?

I'm sure it is possible if you want to re-write some of the code of the program, but I'm not a pro at that kinda thing, so I wouldn't touch it myself!
