Best deal I have found on 2" 60 yard gaffers tape is $10.11 per roll. Shipping was another $12.54 per roll. Anyone that uses this ever found a better deal?

I try to use as little tape as possible tape and go with carpet but I still use some. I currently use painters tape but have to use 3 times as much to get the same confidence of no pulling up or slipping. Painters tape is about half the price so gaffers would be more economical and I got to try a partial roll a few weeks ago that a band left behind and really like it.

Hey Ripman, can you share where you get the tape? I have been shopping around and haven't found any decent deals. Thanks.

Napa Auto Parts professional tape is the best. They have a lesser one but it's not as good. I won't waste my money buying it anywhere else.

Hmmm. I could think of a very good use for it.

Is that what body workers use when masking for a paint job?

Yes, I agree. Gaffers tape is strong stuff.

But I was asking about the "Professional Tape" from NAPA Auto Parts that Angel spoke of.

Angel, I searched NAPA's on-line store and found numerous tape types (including masking tape). What exactly is this Professional Tape you speak of? I'd like to test it; so long as it's not ordinary masking tape that is.

One of primary reason for using the gaffer tape, other than the strength to hold things, is the they don't leave any residue behind. If I wanted strength only, I would use the Duct Tape. I just need a good gaffer tape for show so I don't leave streaks of adhesive behind.

Ripman, what is economy version mean? Thinner tape?

ECONOMY GRADE GAFFERS TAPE
SCAPA #125
Economy Grade Gaffers Tape
Backing Material: cloth
Adhesive: Rubber based
Total Thickness: 11.0 mils
Tensile Strength: 48 lbs/in.
Adhesion to Steel: 28 oz/in.

It appears to be adhesion and backing material. Total hickness and tensile strength appear to be comparble with the other three grades according to lyquiddye's web reference.

I don't use tape. I bought three runner rugs at Walmart and use those instead. Easier to set up and remove and I can use them over and over again.

Never use tape. Speaker wires are run behind the singers along the wall. The TV wires run in front and away from the singers, which leaves the mic cords and I'm not taping them down.
