Anyone here on KS host a show on a Saturday night in the Seattle area? Me and Wifey are thinking of taking an Amtrak from Portland for an overnighter and want to hit a Karaoke place one weekend soon. |

I was just in Seattle, last weekend, though very briefly. Had to pick up my niece, she flew in from Texas on saturday evening. I had actually thought of stopping in on Lon's show, but she was worn out and wanted to get straight home. It was totally a last minute thing for me to be the one picking her up there, or I would have planned that part better and had a motel to party and crash there for the night. Maybe next time (story of my life...) |

Hey Kurt, there are a couple of places in Seattle which offer Karaoke 7 nights a week. Rickshaw, Hula Hula, Mandarin Gate, Ozzies... there are several. Let me know when you plan on coming to town...maybe we can all get together! |

Maybe Kurt, maybe.... when? It's funny, cause that's something Lonnie wants to do, and has for a while, go for a train ride. He saw some dumb channel 10 show where it goes through the mountains, and through the gorge on up into Vancouver BC, and he's DYING to go do it. I'd rather just meet him there by auto:) I've never checked pricing/schedules though. Oops, edited in: I meant the "other" Lonnie, my hubby . |

As to the train--well from pdx round trip is 83$/person....pending awailability of seats on either the COAST STATLIGHT (afternoon train) or an ACELA. So will have to look at finances--and a DOWNTOWN hotel if we took the train. As to the train route--it has nothing to do with the Gorge or Mountains. It basically follows I-5 UP TO Seattle. But your LONNIE COULD RIDE THE TRAIN. Then you follow in a car I spose. We'll just take cabs or the buses around downtown to get to the attractions we want to see. So again would have to be a downtown Karaoke. (To get the wifey to agree to come along) |

Stevie D that does downstairs at Ozzie's says it is pretty low volume compared to the upstairs (I think he said down and up stairs). Might have to snoop around Seattle tomorrow night to check out a few places. |

Kurt is well aware that I prefer to ride around in trucks. Big trucks even better. Big Ford trucks the best. But, that being said, he's always in trouble for saying something smartee pants. He's really just trying his best to earn a spankin', so I don't fall for it. Your big red Ford would work just fine for hauling us around if need be:) On the other hand, Kurt might be a bit skeered to climb in it. |

Oh Charm's been promising to put me over her knee and PADDLE MY BARE AZZ for YEARS now(sometimes with a CAT-O-NINE or sometimes with a RIDING CROP or her favorite---A HICKORY SWITCH: I think that would leave the BIGGEST WELTS) but somehow she just NEVER KEEPS HER PROMISE. Guess she just hasnt been able to find her STILLETTO HEELS!!!!! HAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Hey Charm----can LONNIE fix my ford F-250??? Its broken! Seems one of the bolts holding the starter motor to the bell housing has BROKEN OFF.Cant remove the starte from the tranny. Now the starter shaft is stuck behind the flywheel and it will take dropping the the entire bell housing and using a tap and die to re-thread the bolt hole. WAY BEYOND MY CAPACITY for that kind of work and WAY TOO EXPENSIVE to take to a shop(we only paid 600 for the truck). Im planning on putting it up on Craigs List for $400 as is. Motor itself is worth 500. 77 F250, 3 spd automatic, 351 cleavland V-8, straight body, little or no cancer, interior clean, dual tank. Comes with extra battery, brand new in the box starter motor, brand new starter solenoid. Motor is STRONG RUNNER, tranny shifts SMOOTH. Tires good. T TRUCK IS A MASHER!! If can fix the starter and bolt can EASILY turn around and sell it for $1000 |

I am a little late in reading this I think, but Oh well. Hopefully you didn't go yesterday though. Last night was much busier than usual for a Saturday. I had a full line of first time singers by 11:30 PM and only 5 people left cause it was taking too long. For those counting that was about 25 new singers in line so for the last person it was a two hour wait (Augh too long for my taste). I still had people turning in slips even after I told them I was full, about 12 didn't get to sing. All in all it was a great crowd. Anyways, I do host at Ozzies, but it is upstairs, the louder section. Thanks Karen for the plug. It really is only louder because the sound has nowhere to go and all of the people are talking. Tip: if you are there the first hour, upstairs is usually slow. and you can usually sing a few songs before the crowd funnels in. I try not to play favorites, and run a pretty fair rotation I think. I usually average just over 4 min per singer. So last night I got in 38 new singers, and a total of 54 songs were sung. It was a busy night. You know if people actually came in earlier instead of showing up an 12:50 and wondering why they won't get to sing, life would be so much easier for them. Hope you do come up to see us. I won't be there next weekend, the 24th and 25th. The Northwest Dancesport Championships will be at the Sea-Tac Hilton, and I will be performing that evening. Yes I am a dancer too. If any of you like flowing ball gowns, and really revealing latin dresses, come check it out. |
