Is there a Karaoke program that enables you to print a Artist/Song List to create a book? All of my KJ music is on my Hard Drive and I'm looking for a program that can read what I have & catagorize it. I run PC DJ/KJ but that program doesn't do anything of the sort. Thank you for your time |

Yes there is! The one that I use (and I just love it) is from Latshaw Systems called Song List Generator. It's $79 but it reads your hard drive and you can print out your books in various ways. You can d/l it and try before you buy. You can find it at: http://www.latshawsystems.com/Products.aspx |

That a good thing to know, but if they're not zipped you can get freeware to do the same thing. |

Well, the one I was thinking of was my old hoster Sacks-O-Nuts which can be had at www.freewebs.com/sacksonuts which has a simple book printer and works from lists on the hard drive compiled from the file names. HOWEVER, it is very old code and aimed at Windows '98. I just tired installing it under Vista and the computer coughed up a hair ball. The reason I abandoned the project in the first place was that it had become hard to navigate and install because I kept adding features without updating the interface and the unzipper doesn't work under Vista at all. But, since I have opened my big yap I will try to find the time to write something that will do the job without all the problems. It's not a big deal, string manipulation is pretty much programming 101. |

If the list is in Excel, KJ Pro, a well known and excellent Karaoke Book software, will import it with a click... |

I gotta chime in and agree with all the postings for Latshaw - Song Book Generator. Also use KJ File Manager to make any spelling corrections needed on zipped files.. if you have a big library you will no doubt have variations in artists names, i.e. I had 3 different spellings of Diana Ross & the Supremes, if you spend the time to review your songbooks and go back and make corrections on artists names AND song titles your books will look a whole lot better. |

After reading Lone Wolf's suggestion that same day i ordered Latsaw Songlist Generator, awesome program and extremely fast! haven't printed yet- still editing books. I am finally making the switch from cavs 199 to laptop- well, at least trying to see if i like it better. |

Thanks RLC and John. One of the things I love about it is if you have new additions you can set a date that you added stuff and it will just pick up those or if you have your duets listed as duet you can use it to just pick out those. Lots of ways to print stuff. |

FYI, the latest KJ File Manager (v3.3) now supports newer zip formats that some of the new karaoke download sites are using. If you previously had zip files that were reported as bad, they may actually be able to be opened in the newer version. The latest release of Karma also supports the newer zip files as well, and as of a few days ago, all their apps now run on both 32 and 64 bit Windows. http://www.latshawsystems.com/Products.aspx |
