Hello from France !

I want to know what is the best solution to play karaokes.

I know that mid and kar are not interesting.

But what is the best solution for a pc system : cd+g, mp3+g, dvd, avi, kfn, etc ...

What software has a good compatibility with windows Vista or Seven ?

Thanks by advance.

Salut!
There is no "best" way to do it. It all depends on your personal preferences. Some on here still advocate staying disc-based. It works for them, so I can't say their way is wrong or my way is better. Here's what I use:
I don't know about windows 7, but I use autokdj with winamp and turn rip cd+g discs into mp3+3 files and then zip them.
There are other solutions as well and there should be others on here shortly to tell you what their choice is.
Bonne Chance!

The simplest way is to use CD+G discs. You get a CDG player hook it up to a amplified power source and TV and your all set to go. SIMPLE
If you want to go the digital route its almost as easy -- Need a computer a free hosting software that plays mp3+gs , you need the MUSIC and you are all set.
For home use your pc monitor can serve as the lyric screen.

Hello and thanks for your help !

And what do you think about the kok files instead of the cdg files ?

Is there a difference between cdg and cd+g ?

Bye.

Always have a CD+G player available but get with todays karaoke on some kind of computer system. Ask here... everyone has their favorite karaoke software program. Check out http://karaokesingles.co.uk but make sure to read the terms of the downloadable karaoke music because even though alot of the karaoke music is available for commercial use but some music "like the karaoke channel" is not for commercial use only private use.
