Here's hoping that Chartbuster is doing everything legal.
I'm really surprised at some of these songs I know that
Cowboy Casanova by Carrie Underwood was only released in Sept.
and the album won't be out til Nov 3rd.

Way to go Chartbuster keep up the great work.

Your lists are always appreciated and interesting but unfortunately we aren't in the type of venue that jumps on new things. I try to buy a few new things here and there but usually I'm the only one who does them. But I do like that you share your info with us when you get it.

I post the new listing in the front of my book and got alot of postive feedback and had some really excited about the new country...I think if more KJs would try and promote it they might be surpised......

I used to try and buy everything that comes out new, but not anymore.
No one ever bothers to sing it, so I'll wait till the end of the year and see what package comes out and perhaps I'll buy then. But then again, maybe not. I've had very little in the way of requests for new stuff. Mostly 80's and older stuff gets sung at my shows anyway.

I will get them because they are sent to me automatically each month (subscription). Like Diafel said they probably won't even really be sung until maybe 6 months to a year down the road (IF at all), but at least it gives something new in the book each month until I get the actual requested songs from the customers compiled & purchased - which I usually get every 3 months or so. Getting to be about that time again too! Although this new release has a few more 'rock' songs ie Pearl Jam, Nickelback, Shinedown, Three Days Grace - which all are hot bands sung so we'll see what happens with these.
As far as giving customers a heads up, I always send out an email, Facebook, MySpace when I recieve the listing. Even telling them some of these songs aren't even on the radio YET but on the new cd's so be the first to learn the newest hits today - still doesn't get them, they want what they want & new stuff typically isn't it.

I put "no chance" because I'll only custom discs now, but I have to say the Country disc is enticing. Good tracks and alot of potential good songs going by artist, and not knowing all the songs.

I think the the effort you put forth, of the "coming soon" flyer at the front of the books is great. It's a great way to let us singers know that you're not content with what you have and are always updating to keep your show current. Trying to always better the show, thanks.

I do agree with the others though that it won't get used alot right off the bat unless one of the songs is a huge hit. I actually check for the new Chartbuster discs and then YouTube them to check out these new songs that aren't on radio yet.

Again though, love the coming soon flyer. Great idea Gemini !

Nope, that's part of MY job/expense as a good host to provide what the customer (who supports the show) WANTS to sing. But I do have many people who do bring in thier own discs with what they want. Sometimes if they are discs of interest & others show interest I will try to pick that disc up as well.

Funny that YOU would suggest that someone buy what they want to bring it in with the problem you have with it at your own shows.

Not a chance. I like to compile customer requests. When I get a certain amount, I buy the entire disc that the song is on. This means both that the requests are filled, and that I also have a wide variation of new selections.

Gemini, your statement:

"i wasnt talking about my show..you right I dont allow singers to bring their own disc its listed in the rules in the front of the book"

I'm sure it's listed in a post way back. And myself only here for about 5 months now, I don't recall reading this before and I'm wondering why don't you let us use our own discs?

It looks to me, from what I've read of your posts that you try and stay current with your library, so what gives? Do you find it insulting because you don't have it?

Just curious. No blood no foul :)

Yeah I don't have a problem with it, if it is a disc that would only be of interest to that one singer, then yes I do recommend that they buy it and bring it in to my show which I will be MORE than happy to accomodate. Again, I have many people that bring in their own discs. No problems with that - great ability for a host to be able to do so IMO!

I voted maybe , because I might go for the pop disc, as there are 4 or 5 songs I do/would sing on it, and know others who would sing songs from it as well. Most are available on other discs, though, so only if they are really good versions.

Just wondering why there is such a delay with Chartbuster releasing the November discs??? The October discs came out in September but the November discs aren't scheduled to be released until LATE November. That's almost two months between releases. What's goin' on?

I just talked to them since they charged my bank. They said they are restructuring their new release program & the new discs will be released Nov. 17th. Whatever 'restructuring' means.

Thanks Lonnie. It seems that if they lag behind Pop Hits Monthly by that much time, they will lose out on sales from people who order songs as soon as they are available.
