I walked into one of favorite restaurants last night to pick up a go order and the bar area was packed on what is normally a dead zone on Sunday night. I was wondering what was going on a then I hear " B-5 ", as I looked around every everybody was playing bingo. As I waited for my food, I just had to check out the BJ's(bingo jockey) setup. He had a fender passport w/ one speaker on a stand, a cheap mic, and a table with the little wheel w/ the numbered balls. The BJ told me he did this for 3 hours and charged $100 for the gig. He said his e-mail list was 400+ and I believe him. The beer companies kicked in some prizes and so did the restaurant. Think about it. A few hundred bucks and your in biz, Great ROI. So I was wondering, has anybody has ever tried selling the idea of bingo to a venue and if so did it work? Mojo |

Indiana, for example, only allows non-profits to have bingo. |

I haven't tried bingo but I did do a few months of trivia before our Monday night show - it was building well until sports games started and preempted us. Will probably do it again in January - not a huge financial return but it does fill the seats between dinner and when our show starts. |

It sounds interesting, but it's not my thing. I suppose if I couldn't get gigs I'd consider it though. |

We've done bingo as a karaoke game before. I created my own cards with a bingo designer I found & made them music themed or bar themed with names of staff, events, specials, etc. Everyone that wanted to play got 1 paper with 2 cards on it - no cost to them. Did a call every 15 minutes. First one with a straight line bingo won the prize - which started at $20. If no one won, then the pot would grow another $20 by the next week. Sometimes it would get won every week, other times it would take a couple weeks before & would be capped at $200 if it ever went that long which did happen once. |
