I'm still new to this. I bought a USB condenser mic (with Mic Mate USB adapter) on moonrider's recommendation (thanks, man!) :

And now I want to add something that will increase my reverb, that's all. I called Guitar Center and they recommended ProTools and CuBase but those are a lot and I don't need all that.

I record myself singing onto the PC with this setup. What's the easiest way for this?
Isn't there a software downloadable online that I can just sing to and alter the reverb?
If not, how hard is it for a company to come out with such software nowadays??

Audacity is free and pretty simple to use. It also has several different fx you can experiment with.

Not exactly sure where you want to add the effects. If you want reverb live you will need an external processor of some sort. The software they recommended is for recording & adding the effects later once the track is recorded.

You've got one excellent free to use and one excellent inexpensive options

1) Already mentioned is Audacity. Audacity is a sound editor with basic multi-track recording and mixing capability. It's probably the best for what you want to, which is to load a stereo backing track and record a vocal to it.
Pros: Free, simple to use
Cons: no "real-time" monitoring with FX, awkward to mix with once you pass 3 or 4 tracks, and you can't preview effects before permanently applying them

2) Reaper. This one is quite capable of competing with the "big boys", and is the heart of more than one professional studio's mobile rig. It's very powerful, and is limited only by the hardware you run it on.
Pros: no cripping of evaluation version, inexpensive, powerful, easy to get started with, multiple monitoring options, well maintained, frequent free updates that add new capabilities
Cons: geared towards studio engineers, and the sheer amount of options can be overwheming for a beginning home recordist.

Yup - I didn't include it because development stopped on it 6 years ago when PreSonus bought out the author, and used the work he'd done for version 2 as the base for StudioLive.

Audacity and Reaper are both being updated and improved on a regular basis.
