As title says Im after rackmounting my old player to be able to play customer discs or as a back up if computer fails and i can revert baqck to the discs until sorted.
Plus what would i need to connect it as im using a http://listings.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=35258
to connect from laptop to big screen and it passes through to LCD screen so I can only gather some kind of switch would be needed or is there something I could replace the pc to tv converter for.
Thanks in advance all

Zonerc,
What software are you using to play your computer files?
If you are using CompuHost, you can go through the PC using a video capture card(which is the opposite of what you just linked to) and control the switch right from Compuhost. the link below is what is suggested by Compuhost for the setup.

To rack mount your CDG Player, all you need is a shelf like this:

Just measure the size of your player (vertically) and be sure to get the right size shelf. The one I linked to is a 3-space shelf, you might only need a 2 space shelf. Remember that each rack unit (space) is 1.75 inches.

Then for switching between 2 video sources, I'd recommend a hardware solution. Get a smart switch similar to this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Philips-PH-61153- ... B000165AOY
On there you set one video input as your default source (the PC) and it will automatically stay on that source until another source starts sending a signal (the player). So you'd keep the player turned off except when you need it.

Use two separate channels on your mixer for the audio from those two sources or you could run them through that switch as well.

The shelf he is referring to will hold the player in place. I believe they make ears for that player but I could be wrong.

Thanks Danny well thats that sorted unless I find cheaper ,just something to use as some form of switch ,was thinking of getting a cheap dvd player as had a few people at parties wanting to play dvds they have made up for who ever the party is for so maybe something that will let 2 players to plug.
