I'd like to know if any of you SING, or does any of your regulars SING any of the GUARANTEED to get people up to dance songs. The type of songs I'm thinking of is The Electric Boogie, Jump In The Line, Jungle Love, maybe a conga line to Copacabana. I know there are some COUNTRY line dance songs, but I can't think of them. I'd like some suggestions, because they're ALWAYS good to liven the place up, and keep people interested. I'm willing to learn these songs, so I can sing them IF I'm in the rotation, or if I get a (request) to sing them. As far as rap, I think I can handle "old school" rap, like Baby Got Back, but that's about as far as I want to delve into that genre (too old, not my style). What are some of the songs that get them up at your venues? Not looking for dj, or filler music, I'm looking for something I can sing. I think this will be EXTREMELY helpful to better enhance any of our shows. Thanks for ANY suggestions.

Mustang Sally (puke), Brick House, and Alright Now pop to the top of my head. There are TONS of the songs you're asking for.

I'm sure there are TONS of these songs, but I would just like to get some different views from everyone, thanks for your input Karen. I agree, Mustang Sally is WAAAAY ever done. That's another reason for my asking for suggestions.

You Can Call me Al - Paul Simon

This song always seems to get the bar dancing.

Hot Hot Hot - Buster Poindexter

This is a great conga line dance song- add regulars names in place of the lyrics and you'll get their attention :D

Funky Music, Santeria, Summer of 69, Working for a Living, Smoking in the Boys Room,

One newer song that comes to mind is "All Summer Long" by Kid Rock. Sorta on the same tune as Sweet Home Alabama, which is another guaranteed dance tune. Some others that come to mind as well are, "Strokin'" by Clarence Carter (good line dance tune), "Mony Mony " by Billy Idol (not Tommy James version).

Some slower dance tunes "Lady in Red" by Chris DeBurgh, "The Dance" by Garth Brooks. Most of these songs are done at my shows a lot, and never fail to fill the dance floor with some hot bodies.

Srnitynow, you may want to learn to sing: Hollaback Girl, Gwen Stefani

That one never fails to get all the sleepy drunks woke back up and out on the dance floor. :D

John, I think I've created a monster, BUT, since I have, (one question). I know there was a dance that was COUNTRY, and ALL of the women used to LINE DANCE to it just like they do to the Electric Slide, do you know what it was? Blue, I agree with the effects of HOLLABACK GIRL, but I might not get the same EFFECTS, since I'm a 6'8" GUY. LMAO Getting quite a list, if I learn a forth of them, I'm set. Keep them coming. Thanks.
