How many singers do you get in a night at your shows on WEEKDAY nights.

For me I have been getting about 25-40 in recent weeks for a 3 to 3.5 hour show.

I am in a very small venue for my Thur & Fri shows. Mix of audience and singers is perfect right now. However, when outside during summer months, I may have more singers and up to 40 audience members.

I don't count success in how many singers as such, but I do like to make sure the seats are as full as possible. However, I do know how many singers I do get on weekdays. One venue ranges from a dozen up to 30+, depending on time of year, whats going on in the area. The other venue is just now getting started, (it's a new from scratch show) and I get up to about 14 now, with as many as 40 in attendance. I am hoping to double that number in the next few weeks.

Low average 10-15 on any given night. Weekends tend to hit 30-40 normally.

My Monday night is a freak of karaoke nature.

When I started at this bar, the owner was buying him and his friends of bushel of crabs and watching Monday night football. Monday night karaoke had been done in my area many times, at different bars, without success. I was told that karaoke couldn't be done on Mondays in Dundalk. Most bars close early on Monday... usually about 8pm if they open at all.

It took 3 months before it started to really catch on... after I convinced the owner to make it a weekly thing. The owner also did his part... buying Google search priority so anyone searching for karaoke in dundalk and baltimore will hit Hops Inn first. I also had my website, MD party.com, and Karaoke Adventures. Between mine and his efforts we got foot traffic off of those. In addition, he had his bar backs plaster fliers around the neighborhood.

Now, I get there to set up and everyone is already there. I have 10 - 12 singers to start off, and usually gets to at least 17. Last night I had over 20.

In my opinion, this is how you make karaoke sucessful... through both your efforts and the bar owner's support and efforts.

This is a tough question for me because it can vary so much. I can have 15 or 30 +. I'm assuming you mean how many singers at one time in the night because I can have several people come and go. I consider Friday and Saturday the weekend, so I'm only judging by my Wednesdays.

I was going by how many individual singers in any particular round. If he wanted how many singers that come and go included, that figure could double.

Show #1 younger crowd- 12-15 average per round weekdays, low 7-10.

Show #2 much older crowd- 5-8 per round weekdays, but lots of listeners and family members.

Saturdays get outta control busy usually, but we cap a rotation at 17 max before starting another one and do the "insert method" where necessary.

FOR THE SAKE of Dr. Fred's Thread i will say that those numbers are current and NOT in our busy peak months. And although it may seem like a small rotation to some, i'm sure i have more professional singers, as in WORKING- Professional singers than MOST venues anywhere on the mainland. And celebrities abound add to the mix, so my first venue is very successful in it's own right, both monetarily and in popularity.

In my 11 years of PT kj-ing and 16 of deejaying and owning a full service entertainment company, i have hosted many karaoke shows that had consistant weekly rotations of 25+ singers and audiences of 100+.

-just so we're clear doctor  ...

My regular venue cut out weekdays over the last year. (after having it open wednesdays for.... I guess about 8 years)

Sometimes I think it was down to 1-3 singers and wasn't making enough beer money to validate paying the KJ.

But, it's a small hick town.. most people commute out of town for work, others are farmers (huge farming area, we're known as the "garden spot".. or, "g spot" for short as I like to call it, Lol)... so there's just not a lot of partying going on here weekdays.

I don't miss it being gone that night, cause I rarely ever attended. I would have done the same thing if it were my bar.
