Sammy, is this the way newbies are treated? I figured out how to mix but I would really like to know a way around changing the format of karaoke music I purchased. There is some kind of encryption that keeps me from playing it in my Acid program. Can anyone help me pleeeeeeezzzz?!?!

Help usually comes freely here gracie. I for one Don't have a clue what Acid is. And I have never downloaded a song from walmart. Did you try the FAQ section of the walmart downloading section, I imagine others have had your problem.

is it a Karaoke song. and how is it supposed to be used?

is it a bin file, mp3+g of what?

Where can you download karaoke music from Walmart???

Acid only plays certain types of files, karaoke files are usually different & generally require a certain type of program to play them.

I have never downloaded music from them, but the site states explicitly that all media is encrypted with the DRM alogorithim. They only guarantee that you can play it with Microsoft's Windows media player 9. In order to use any other program, it will need to support DRM encrypted files. I am not familiar with the software you mention.

Acid Pro is mixing software by Sony, you can download thousands of songs from Walmart for $.88 per song, it's pretty cool. By the way it's a wma file which is acceptable by acid normally but the encryption is the problem.

Dont think there is a legal way out off the encryption. Since you already you already have the song what I will do is play it in Win Player and record it into Acid or Cubase as you first track.

I know that MTU products use the wma encription, and you should probably check for the latest direct X drivers. they control the encryption. and direct x is up to version 9.0b the upgrade is free.

to check open your start menu, open the run button and type in dxdiag. read the screen. it will tell you which version of direct x you are using. you may even need to scan for all updated for windows. I know they have a new windows tool that recently came out that adds a license for downloaded music
