I am planning to writing a karaoke hosting software or maybe add hosting support to my existing program. Since there's lots of DJ/VJ here so I thought this might be a good place to ask. Are most hosting softwares out there already provide enough features? Is there anything missing you wish to have but not available?

You can check out the karaoke software I wrote and give a comment. I finally release it as 1.0.

It supports mp3+cdg, mp3+lrc, audio channel selection. You can download it here.

Thanks!

Ok, I will give it a try and let ya know what I think.......

Update.....

Download and tried it, and it works as as a simple player.

But a bit confused.....If you a trying to go after home use customers, the only thing I would add is a database function with the ability to seqrch the database and QUE song in.

If you trying to market to KJs you got a long way to go

But again, as a simple player, it works great!

Thanks for the comments. At first I try to target the home user since they are a little less picky (I hope). Then I want to evolve it into something KJs can use. Since I am not a KJs, that's why I ask questions here. I was thinking about adding 3 options the user can choose.

I am planning to add database search to it.

1. Standard mode. Play like a winamp does. Where you have playlist and click song to play.
2. Karaoke Box mode Play like one of those home play where you will type in the song number on screen and hit reserved. The song will play and delete it after played.
3. KJ mode. You build a database. Add singer name. Option to display singer name.

Maybe it's better to separate them as different program to target different customer instead having the options all in one player?
