I'm talking about people who try to make a career of singing. Do you think so? Why or why not?

Some who sing are not in school..

Karaoke is a relaxing hobby/avocation/career.. (If you choose to view it that way)

I sing because I enjoy singing..

Some who claim to know say that singing evolved prior to language..

Most mammals have a mating call of some sort.. Birds sing, lions roar..

I karaoke..

I am a professional singer, and have been since I was 16. My decision had NOTHING to do with my school workload. My decision had to do with a passion for singing and performing. I LOVE what I do. I couldn't be happy doing anything else.

If you can't handle to workload of school, you DEFINITELY can't handle the pressures of pursuing a singing career. Perhaps there are some people out there who think becoming a singer is a quick and easy thing to do - and get rich doing - but, believe me, unless they genuinely love it and have a passion for it, they aren't going to last long enough to actually become a professional singer.

So, no, I don't think anyone becomes a singer simply because they can't handle the workload of school.

I find it is the other way around. People try to make a living at singing and when they find they can't they go back to school or get a job. :D
