First off let me preface this with the fact that I have served this country with all I have. If you have elders on Social Security this is for you..
In Colorado I applied for food assistance which I will get $144/mo.
In the process they entered me into another program where they pay the $98/mo they are taking out for medicaid (my main provider is the VA) and my check will jump to over $700/mo. This is something to check into if you are in this situation or have parents or grandparents in the same boat...
In these times neighbor must take care of neighbor and not report them to the big brother..
The Va has a program where vets are entitled to section 8 programs and the rent is adjusted by the cost of utilities. My rent is $90 and utitities about $90. Google Riverglenn apts fort collins co

Gee Ollie what a deal, I just googled them and those apts. look great and the original prices they want arn't bad either so you are getting a heck of a deal with all the assistance programs.
Glad to see that you are set up in a nice place.
Hope our current government don't screw things up as I know there are a lot of Senior Citizens out there (getting there myself) who need the help especially those that served our country (myself included) in times of need only to be forgotten.
Have a very merry Chirstmas
