A Broadway Musical Theatre Record company will be releasing the musical "13" as a CD and Karaoke track package..the Karaoke does not contain graphics hopefully future releases will be CDGs format. I know most of you dont care about musicals but hey its more karaoke

Do small theater companies use these kinds of things for their music? I was in a small theater company years ago and paying musicians ate a big part of the take.

Not usually karaoke tracks, but, there ARE places to get full backing track recordings for shows. There's a theatre in Glendale, California that uses tracks for all their musicals. I'm not sure if they are self-produced (they actually put out a cast recording of one of their productions awhile back) or if they use a company that produces tracks specifically for that purpose and then "rents" them out the same way they rent out scripts/scores.
