Post subject:  Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World-Israel Kamakawiwo'Ole

I'm doing a wedding in January and they requested this song. I'm looking for the best version and where to buy it. I have the Top Hits Monthly version and it's very good but it doesn't have the What A Wonderful World part. I don't have to sing it, I can just play the original Israel Kamakawiwo'Ole version, but I'd like to sing it and have it for future performances. Thanks for your help

Sound Choice has it on their Movie Hits disc.

Thanks LL. :) I checked ebay after your post and found the SC 8850 Movie Madness Vol 2 and it's on there. It kind of makes me mad that I have to spend $20 to get one song that I want. True, the disc has 17 songs and if I start hosting regularly I might use some of them. Grrrr, gotta be a better way to get an individual song. I think I'll check Tricerasoft.

Tricerasoft has it for $1.99 by SBI. I don't know who SBI is. I listened to a sample and it sounds pretty good. $2 x 17 is $34 for a comparable disc to the Sound Choice, LOL. Maybe it's time to buy 100 pack from Tricerasoft???

SBI is very good, although I buy all my tracks from SBI directly from them on sbikaraoke.com because the customer service is better.

Is Tricerasoft in the US or the UK? The reason I ask, is because you have to take into account the conversion rate from Pounds to USD (if Tricera is in the UK).

I've never dealt with ordering custom discs until recently, and I have purchased several from SBI KARAOKE. I had a problem with my very 1st order, but like DanDan said, their Customer Service is EXCELLENT, and I have ordered more from them since.

Tricerasoft carries most of the SBI songs however with a one to two month delay on the newest SBI releases.

The tricerasoft price is a lot less $1.20 per song if you buy the $90 gift certificate for 75 songs.

Most of the songs are priced 1.49-2.49 if you dont go with the gift certificate. It seems the older SBI is $1.99 and newer releases are $2.49 some of the other companies songs are $1.49.

Select A track seems to get all the SBI tracks instantly and costs currently $3.31 a song, but they have bundled a bunch of relatively small UK manus as well that have occasional hard to find songs.

SBI directly costs $2.71 for a current release, it is priced in pounds (1.70 UK pounds) so you have to do the conversions.

As for customer service I have had no problems with any of the three. They are all based in the UK. Tricerasoft is download only the other two will make a CD and mail it to you. My experience with SBI was they sent me the CDs in about a week. Tricerasoft and Select a track seem to make it very easy to price everything in US dollars if you wish. I seem to recall SBI will give you the dollar total when you place the order but I dont remember for sure since it has been a while.

SBI is apparently not listed in the Karaoke CD databases so you have to check them if you cant find a song anywhere else. There entire business appears to be downloads and custom CDs. Same with several of the smaller manufactures at select a track.

Overall I have not yet seen any SBI tracks that are unacceptable quality and many are pretty good (although sometimes they go with less familiar mixes or versions of the orgional song).

You can probably find it cheaper than $20 - about $15 on ebay, but if it's any help, that disc gets used quite a bit (at least at my shows), at least 7 songs get done regularly, if it's going into your catalog, it may be a nice addition. Especially Creep, Bring Me To Life (has both duet & non-duet version), Knockin On Heavens Door, Over The Rainbow, We All Die Young, Godzilla & Love Removal Machine.

Thanks Lonman, yeah, I found it on ebay for $15 plus $4.95 shipping. :P If it's going to get used often then that may be the best way to go, $20 for 15 songs isn't that bad if they get used.

If I start hosting regularly I think I'll get the Tricerasoft bulk pack because I have a feeling I'll need to pick up quite a few songs that I don't have. I'd love to pick up a large collection of used Top Hits Month;y, Pop Hits Monthly, Pocket Songs, Sound Choice etc. from the last 5-6 years. If I could find that I would be all set for quite a while. You can't have every song and as long as I have a decent collection I'll be happy even if I have to tell someone once in a while that I don't have a song that they want to sing.
