The pedals are very cool if you're a solo performer or something like that. However, I don't see much application for Karaoke. The problem with these pedals is they're designed to be setup ahead of time with presets for specific songs/passages/etc. However, on the fly adjustments like would typically be useful in a Karaoke setting (where you don't know what songs your singers will be performing in advance) is cumbersome and not easily accomplished. For that, an outboard rack unit or integrated unit in the console are much more powerful and applicable. However, if you're using the Boss pedal for strictly for yourself (home karaoke practice, performances, etc) it is a very cool tool.

The best thing I can tell you about it is to play around with it. Don't be afraid to experiment. Find the sounds you like and play with the parameters to tweak them. One thing that can be a lot of fun is to listen to a professionally recorded track with very obvious effects (reverb, delay, etc) and see if you can identify it and duplicate it with the pedal.

I have been patiently waiting for a better box to come along and after watching the video below at Sweetwater, I think this new one might be the ticket! Unlike older processors where everything had to be pre-programmed for key, etc...this one seems to be able to do everything, on the fly. I like it!
