As i was running my new rack set up last night,i was sitting in front of it,i was sitting on one of those folding chairs from a card table. The chair has a foam seat covered in a type of plastic,i was on a vinyl floor wearing rubber soled tennis shoes in my basement.I was making attempts to sing when all of a sudden i heard a pop, snap crackle crackle crick, zzzt, then silence.
When i awoke from passing out on the floor....
I wasn't sure what was going on.After swapping out a few pieces with no luck,i decided to try another channel and voila.I was like, wth is that about.
Well i got the other channel dialed in,i'm attempting again and sure enough,i heard the crackle but this time i jumped up to see if i could shut it down real quick when i felt a little shock from the chair to my leg,it was then that i realized what had happened.
I'm still a little surprised that something like this could happen when all i was doing was holding a mic.Not like i was inside messing with the circuits.
So it looks like i lost the channel on my zed 12fx mixer. Now i'm kind of nervous every time i turn it on,would have thought there would be some kind of protection built in to protect against something like this from happening,i mean static is every where.
Any one ever experience something like this before?
