I've been a karaoke addict for a couple years now and regularly sing my little heart out at various bars around San Jose and San Mateo. I'll be in Sacramento this upcoming weekend and I was wondering what are the better bars to go to for some good karaoke? (Good as far as crowd, set-up, song selection, and overall atmosphere.)

On Wed. and /or Thurs. nights we go to the Cliff House in Folsom. There is karaoke from 9:00 pm to 12:00. There is also a dance floor and on Thurs. night it really gets hoppin. Nice atmosphere, wide variety of music. Great crowd on both nights. Then on Sat. night we go to Cheers in Sacto. It's on West El Camino Ave. and Truxel. Different type of crowd. Not so much dancing, but good singing. Most people sing from their tables. More relaxed. Cheers is from 9:00 pm to 1:30. Both have a good song selection. And there's Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks Calif. about an hour from Sacto. They have karaoke from Thurs. to Sun. From 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. It's in club 88 with a big stage and lights. Karaoke is new to the casino so I'm not sure what the crowd is like. Hope this helps and have fun!

at Sunrise & Madison in Fair Oaks / Citrus Heights

Corner Pocket in Citrus Heights, near Roseville on Monday & Wednesday nights.
They're on the corner of Antelope Rd & Sunrise Blvd.

I think there are others, but I can't think of them all now.

The Cliff House has a good setup, it's kind of an older crowd, about 40's and up though (just a FYI). Their song selection is ok, but a little outdated. I believe they're on Thursday night.

Mark & Monicas in Granite Bay has Friday night karaoke but I can't recommend them because I haven't been there yet.

The Pine Cove downtown I believe still has karaoke on Thursday night. I haven't been there in a while though. Mostly a college crowd there.
