Also does anyone have any thoughts / comments on Adobe Audition 3.0 I've got two pairs of AKG K240 phones I'm right fond of. I'm not familiar with Audition. |

Also does anyone have any thoughts / comments on Adobe Audition 3.0 I don't see why you should have to pay that much. Most any reasonably-priced headphone of $40-70 should work fine. |

The best headphones I ever had...used them for years on the air. I went through three or four pair and still use them today. Sony Pro - MDR7506 http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/cat-audio/ ... t-MDR7506/ $130 Retail...but you can find them online for around $90. Pro Tools & Adobe Audition (formerly Cool Edit) are the multi-track sound recording/editing software suites of choice for 98% of Radio, TV and Film. Audition is cheaper and some like it better. Both get very high marks. |

This is the pair I'm using http://www.akg.com/site/products/powers ... ge,EN.html I've tried many brands and contrary to what someone said, you do need to spend a bit more to get a good set. I've been using these AKG for years and they will help you produce some great mix. For Audition, has you wish, it's really a personal taste, I like Sonar from Cakewalk but wouldn't have a problem with Audition except Adobe is usually very expensive All these pro software uses a great sound engine |

For a lot less in price here is a good bang-for-the-buck set of cans that also have volume control which I find really useful. For example I plugged in some headphones without volume control into my computer desktop speakers jack and the volume was REALLY LOUD until I turned the speakers volume knob way down - and then when I unplugged the headphones the speaker volume was so low it didn't even sound like the speakers were on... Philips SHP2500/37 Full Size Headphone with Volume Control (Approx. $25) |

I use the Sennheiser HD205 headphones, which cost about $50ea. I would like to have phones with better isolation, but these get the job done and they have survived some nasty cord-yanks, drops, etc. |

I use a cheapo; less than $5 (and I use the attach mic to sing/record). There is some leakage but not that bad. What you want to look for is good isolation and durable. |

I 2nd the AKG K240's, love em. Use them in my home studio & just about every 'pro' studio i've ever recorded in including Heart's own Bad Animals in Seattle. Very accurate sound reproduction & audiophile type quality. |
