Well this was strange, my windows simple search function stopped working correctly and I couldn't figure out how to fix it. I have most of my music/karaoke files in Folders WITHIN Folders, probably like alot of people have, but with a little loose music located directly within the main folder. Anyway, I have all my karaoke in one big folder, but most of it is in smaller folders within that big folder (like SC-8094 or whatever). So I will right click on the big folder and hit SEARCH, and it usually brings up all files with that name inside the WHOLE BIG FOLDER, even the files inside the smaller folders within the big folder I am searching. Well, it stoped doing that, and started only bringing up the few loose kara files located immediately inside the big folder, and I couldn't fix it. I finally had to use system restore to fix it. Anyone have this happen to them and know how to fix it without using system restore? Maybe it was a virus, but I only put that computer on the internet to upgrade software, so not likely. I had done a couple software updates the day before, so maybe it was that, although I rebooted 3 times while trying to fix it....

Nope never had that happen.
Have you ever tried Powerdesk? It is similar to windows explorer but much more versitile...with a stand alone search program that is awesome and fast.
There is a freeware version (which is what I use)

It might be a virus, but you may have a hard disk that is starting to go south. Hope that you have everything backed up on another drive, just in case.
