After using Sax & Dotties for a number of years, I recently made the switch to Just Karaoke 1.0. Does anyone recommend a different hosting software over these two? Any input or criticisms would be appreciated.

I use and love CompuHost by Invicion Software. http://www.karaokeware.com
It's more on the pricey side, but I never looked back.

In general, most Hosting Programs have Trial Versions. Just try them one by one and see what fits your needs.

Or research past postings here in the forums. This subject was covered plenty of times, trust me. ;)

I use Compuhost, and would recommend it to anyone. I've used Sax and Dotties before, and Compuhost is superior in quite a few ways, one being Compuhost has a "singer history", that you can keep for every song ever sung by a singer. I've never tried Just Karaoke.

I've seen a local KJ using it and it looked very simple to operate and search for songs. The sound seemed fine and I had him change the key for me and that seemed fine. I'm sure as far as features it no way compares to Compuhost or Hoster, but for $25 what can you expect? If it works decently then it's well worth the $25. If I pick up a regular weekly hosting gig I may give it a try. For $25 it's not much of a gamble.

add to that you can go slipless with their remote tool that works flawlessly with justkaraoke. with a networked system and the remote tool you can allow your singers to que their own songs.
You also have the filler player built in to it.

I am also a CompuHost man. I own and/or have tried Sax N' Dotties, MTU Hoster, JustKaraoke, Siglos Pro, and others. Compuhost has by far the best overall package and performance. It's perfect for running gigs.
