The lefft side of my EQ is going out or gone. I thought it was the settings then wiring, etc. I just need to get a new one any suggestions. |

Do you have any guidelines? My gut reaction is to suggest either a dbx 231, $199 MAP, if it's okay that the unit is: * 2U rack spaces * does not have HPF, LPF, or limiter * does not have illuminated "feedback detector" faders (junk anyway IMO) * the I/O meter only has 4 segments These are what I use, but I have all those other functions elsewhere in my system; and I only need the graphic equalizer as something I can reach down and adjust quickly. |

I like the dbx 231 as well, it's a nice sounding unit that won't break the bank. If you are running separate subs, you could also think about possibly upgrading to a dbx Driverack PA, has full eq's, compressor/limiter for speaker protection, subharmonic synth (creates a nice bass sound without really kicking up the volume), crossovers, among other things. |

I also do bands and live outside events. I have just recently picked up a compressor. I need to make sure it holds up |

Don't compress the whole mix unless you know what you are doing, and why you want to do it. I see a lot of KJs, DJs, and "band dads" make this mistake, and the results are often quite poor. |
