Hi, This Vocopro effects processor I have is just too darn noisy in my rig. Everything I try and I just can't rid the system of its noise. When I take it outta the chain it's a pretty quite system, well within reason. So... What are you folks using? I need it to be a rack unit, 1u preferably. Thx, Mark |

Currently I use the pair of effects processors that are built into the Yamaha 01V for Karaoke. However in other settings (and even for Karaoke before I got the digital board) I've used plenty of outboard processors. Lexicon make some great units, I love the TC Electronics M-One and D-Two units. The Yamaha SPX-90 is a classic that has got a lot of great options. The MX200 you bought is a solid unit too. Personally I'd prefer it to have a full display but hey for the price it's not a bad choice. Lexicon makes so good quality components and it will certainly perform far better than anything you could have purchased from VocoPro. Congrats on the purchase, enjoy!! |

I tore down my rig last night because I was thinking that I was loving my old equipment maybe a little too much, which was clouding my ears... It was... my 20+ yar old Numark DJ mixer is dirty. Too much Hissssssss. I wouldn't beleieve it until I used a "mature ear".... Guess I'm gonna sell off my old stuff and join the 21st century.... At least the new amp is very quite. Thx for the options freinds. I'm going with a good mixer with on-board effects, like the Yamaha, Mackie, etc., less equipment to lug around, etc. Mark |

The price of MX400 and MX400XL units have recently come down quite a bit. This is the 4x4 "step up" from the MX200. I love mine except that if I want to adjust the tempo of things on the B unit I have to use the scroll wheel to select unit B. It would be cool if it had two separate tap buttons. I guess it could probably be done with a MIDI pedal but I am not that sophisticated yet. |

I use the Lexicon MX200 for my big rig and the internal Yamaha MG124CX effects for my fixed rig. On the Lexicon, I use "Big Pop Vocal", "Nashville", "Slapback", "Big Vocal Verb", and "La-La Land" presets, all slightly modified, depending on the song. I save them in user presets 1-5, and select one based on the song. On the Yamaha mixers, I use 10 for most things, 7 for older country, and 1 for rock which wants a more audible delay. |

Well, I ordered the Yamaha MG82CX. It gets good over all reviews, is quiet and the effects gets very high marks. Well see....? Mark |

Jeff, page 40 of the manual shows how you can assign a simple , push to make, TRS plugged, dual footswitch to tempo on any of the 4 effects channels on the MX400. No need to get bogged down with midi

I had the same problem with my 20+ yr Numark mixer 2 yrs ago. I bought a can of Contact Cleaner Lubricant at Radio Shack ($10) removed the face plate, side, back, bottom panel and sprayed all the nooks/crannys. Problem solved. I just cannot part away with this mixer. I think it's the best sounding mixer Numark ever built. It's the PPD DM1950 model and the only one with a built-in "Aural Effects Exciter". Combine that with BBE 882 and the sound is amazing! I read it in a DJ Forum that only a few were built because Numark had a falling-out with the FX company and the licensing were pulled. |
