Ebay Amazon Craigs List Swap Meet Yard Sales Dealer on Internet Local Dealer Many of my disks were picked up on sale. Some from Wally World, some from The Wherehouse, but many were purchased from a sponsor here at Kscene, Ace Karaoke. Over the years, Ace has offered bargains in the .99 Cent box at events hosted at their store. Some may say, .99 Cents? Must be junk.. But I say, .99 Cents, great deal.. Another source for my disks has been at the Karaoke Scene "KaraokeFest". Vendors will have a booth, and sell product there at the event. Some vendors even have free disks.. |

Shall I bump up this Karaoke Fest invite? We buy mainly from dealers off the internet. I have bought off of EBAY but find the shipping often brings the bargains up to the same costs as the dealers. Sometimes I just pay the extra for the dealer that I know will get the discs there in time for the next show. We don't have a local supplier except for Wally's World. |

Walmart Dollarama Newspaper ads Garage sales Other KJs going out of business Internet stores eBay Word of mouth I buy the majority of my discs used or at cut rate bargain prices. I RARELY pay full price unless I really want a disc. For instance, I paid full price for SC9002, but only because I really wanted Women (I'm a def Lep fanatic). No one has sung off that disc yet, incidentally. I've got some real scores from Dollarama, such as some of the Singing Machine Original Motown Master Recordings discs for only $1 each! |

Exactly. While I have several thousand dollars "worth" of music (maybe even tens of thousands!) that I have gathered over the years, I guarantee you that I paid only a very small fraction of the face value. I'm cheap! |

I pretty much have every version of every older song that I want. Even a few versions I don't really like. I did this by spending a lot of money, wherever I could find aa great deal. Ace, small local dealers, internet, ect. Now I just buy the new chartbuster pop and country releases every month from Ace karaoke. I live local, so I go there myself, and know the people there. If there is a newer song, or just a first version of an olders ong, I will buy on Pop Hits, Zoom, Sunfly, or whatever. If it is the only version, it is the best version. Felix the KJ |

Because I have a very full book already, and have been buying since the first CDGs came out, I don't buy anything old anymore. I do have customers who may just "die" if I don't get their oldie for them and if they're serious singers I advise they get their own disc collection going...that it is unreasonable to expect hosts to buy their 1-2 songs for them when the only way is to buy an entire CDG with repeats on it. Many have gone the route of starting their own collections. The majority of what I buy now comes from Selectatrack. I ordered a disc last Wednesday and it arrived on Monday...England to the PNW. Not bad time wise at all, and they have a great system. Their selection is really amazing. I also have picked up TONS of CDGs at places like the Goodwill. I did buy about 12 discs from a guy getting out of the business at $5 each which in retrospect I think I probably paid too much. I will do an order from karaoke dot come once in a while for new country collections because I don't listen to country music and they're pretty spot-on with their compilation discs of country faves. Don't have too many contemporary country singers coming to my shows like I used to. |
