Hello, well the bar I am helping get off the ground (for over a year now lol) wants to do a karaoke gig on Tuesday nights so I told them I would but what I need to do is get some music.

We did this several years back but outside of maybe 5 to 10 tracks we have not updated our karaoke much so need to do that. When we first started we bought a set of SGB disk (1 - 66 or something like that) and we have those and a few others but that is about all we had so with that in mind where would you suggest I go to buy some disk that would give us a start on getting updated to what a lot of people are singing these days.

The Friday Saturday night dance crowd at this place is a mix of about 30% Classic Rock/80's types, about 55% more modern pop, and a little more toned down Hip/Hop dance type stuff and the rest like a little harder HH and a few like a little country.

LOL, it's quite a crowd. Anyway with that info what way would you go to update and get caught up some. Can't do it all at once only have $300 in budget to upgrade with for now but will add some weekly as we go forward.

Thank You for any replies.

Go to Pop Hits Monthly. They are selling the entire 2009 set for $269.

Pop Hits quality is second to only Sound Choice in my opinion.

Pop Hits Monthly IMO 99% MAJOR step up from SGB which I feel are on par with the worst manu's out there.

SGB you get what you pay for...and that ain't much. Some of the tracks are passable, most are not.

If you're looking to update beyond the standard core library, get the Karaoke Kurrents updates or even the Supercore updates. Big bang for the buck.
