I can;t speak for that unit, but I can speak for the company. I bought the TCHelicon Voicetone Synth (link) a few weeks back and have been having a ball with it on Karaoke nights. If the quality is half as good, I am sure it's a fantastic unit. I am very impressed thus far. |

Well, I bought one and it replaced my Lexicon MPX110 & DBX 266xl. I'm no KJ so it's for my own use and I needed a better reverb and the ability to use the harmonizer. I have heard good things about TC-Electronic but I honestly didn't think it was that good, it's simply incredible what you can do with this thing, Live or studio. This thing also has a great mic pre-amp

Well if you hook it up through an Aux send like most effects processors, the compressor is going to be pretty much useless & the 266XL you are replacing would do a much better job in that respect connected to the mics either directly or via insert points on the channels, as the Aux send is sending a side signal in line with the original signal, so anything compressed on the side is not going to affect the 'thru' signal, just add to it leaving the original signal intact. If you are connecting the mic directly to it directly to an individual channel, the built in compressor may work ok. Other than the TC makes some nice effects. |

It's how I got it connected but my concern is what if I want to do a duet  Can I connect both mics on my Zed14 and like you said use the aux for the reverb & compressor or am I not better off keeping my DBX266xl and only use the reberb

You would be better off keeping the dbx for the ompressor. The way an Aux send works is it is like a side slice of the original signal, basically leaving the original signal intact. Meaning anything compressed is not going to do a thing as the original signal is still going through - so the compressed signal is ONLY going to apply to the side signal of the Aux send. |
