I did not back up my itunes library prior to my harddrive crashing but I have to say that I didn't expect a crash within 9 months of buying the computer. Can anyone tell me if the avcware ipod download is safe. It states that it will allow me to load all of my music back to my computer from my ipod. Good deal or should I use another method. Any suggestions?

I am not sure if you ripped the music yourself or bought them from the iTunes store. If you bought them from the iTunes store, then all you have to do is install your iTunes on your new machine, log in to your iTunes account and you can download all the music you bought again.

If you ripped them yourself, there are many utilities that let's you take the music back. I assume you are on the Windows side so I can't tell you much about the acware product. I use a Mac and I know of 6 utilities and I tried one of them as a test and it seemed to work fine. I would give it a try.

All of my music is either purchased from itunes or amazon. No illegal downloads. I also had around 1500 songs imported from my cd collection. I will download itunes and log in for my purchased music like you say. I just wanted to make sure that the avcware was a safe download before using it. Has anyone tried it?
