Tonight while running my show I had some serious problems. I use sax n dotty as my hoster with the latest version of winamp. During song I would all of a sudden just get a very loud squeal run thru the system, or the music would stop while the vocals continued and then the music sometimes would come back on, or it just would stop all together? Has anyone had this problem if so how did you fix it? Next question is the older versions of winamp any better and are there better players out there that are compatible with sax n dotty? Thanks for any help with this problem. I have ripped my music via CDGRip. |

I am assuming you have done some troubleshooting to determine that the problem is within Winamp, like playing the mp3 portion of one of the problem songs in another player, such as Windows Media player. It could also be caused by other running applications such as antivirus programs etc. From the Winamp forums---> http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php ... ost1212926 Also---> http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=166479 Quote: Next question is the older versions of winamp any better I have found that 5.11 is rock solid and never went to a newer version. Also you can go back to ver 2.95 simple but again rock solid.---> http://www.oldversion.com/Winamp.htmlQuote: and are there better players out there that are compatible with sax n dotty? No, Sax N Dotty was built as a Winamp frontend application.
Now you will get all kinds of hosting software suggestions from here on out so I will give mine as well - Karma by Latshaw Systems http://www.latshawsystems.com/ |

Im running the trial version now and have found 1 big problem and that is when i use the secondary screen feature which i will always use it shoots my cpu usuage up to 100% so I guess the program will just crash after a little while of running it like that?

Yea, I don't know why it does that, mine does too...while it is queueing a song and then drops down a little when it is done queueing. I have never had a crash yet, but then I have not owned it but a little over a month. My strategy is to not look at it Don't really know how accurate it is at measuring cpu usage to begin with. Wish I knew the answer. Any other Karma users care to comment on this? |

Like it was said, the problem is probably in winamp. Go back to an older version see if that fixes the problem. I have been using S&D for about 6 years now with only 2 "hickups", that were easily fixed. |

Hi RLC, I have a Topic running right now that asks about KARMA users with lock ups and hi CPU usage. You indicated that you have not had any crashes... does that also mean no hangs, freezes, lock ups? I have never had to reboot, but I have had to use task manager and stop the program (1 time) almost every show. The CPU meter is very accurate and follows the CPU meter in task manager. Mine runs with dual video between 35-60% (see my post) Mrmarog |

Only to the extent that when it jumps up to 100% (and that only happens to me when a song is queueing) that you are unable to do anything else - so yea freezes in a sense momenterily, a few seconds, while the song is queueing.
