Hey, all! So, I've been out of the karaoke loop for awhile, and I just don't know where the good places are. I'm looking for somewhere in either Manhattan or Williamsburg, Brooklyn with a good sound system and a good selection of both Broadway and rock. Most of the places I know of are the karaoke room type of place...I want an actual BAR. Thanks so much for any suggestions! |

Thursdays @ 10pm http://saxappealmusic.com/appearances.html He's PC Operated, but he can play your personal CDs. I've been to a few of his shows over the years. I've been to the Playright Bar once.... They were slightly overpriced, and me and my Friend never got a Buy-Back. There are several places that I am aware of in the Williamsburg, Bklyn area.... I just have to double-check when I get back home on Monday. Off the top of my head, I know of The Alligator Lounge (on Metropolitan Ave about 2 blocks from the Union Ave/Street train station). I have no idea who the KJ is, or what their show is like. I've also been told it's a Lesbian Bar. There's The Trash Bar (just off Roebling Street in Williamsburg, Bklyn). I have no idea who the KJ is or what their show is like. Another site you can check is www dot MURPHGUIDE dot com (problem is, Sean doesn't update his site). From the main page, go to the tab that says "NY Bars by Type" and click on "Karaoke Nights." Just call up the places to verify if they still have Karaoke there. And now, for a shameless plug.... I know you said Manhattan or Bklyn, but I'm starting up my show again in Fresh Meadows, Queens..... July 17th will be my first show a a place called PJs (on 190th Street and Union Turnpike). I'd love to finally meet you Operakitty. |

Thanks for all the input, cueball! I'll check out your recommendations... Ohhh..well, if you're hosting in Queens, don't see why we couldn't make the trek out there sometime. Manhattan and Williamsburg are just 'cause I'm on Manhattan and my friend is in Williamsburg, so....just looking close to where we are....Queens isn't a bad trek if we have reason, though. |

My show will be every other Saturday up until the first week of October from 9 PM to Midnight. And, if you can't make my show, let me know where you're gonna be some night. I have no problem heading into Manhattan or Bklyn. You can e-mail me at CUEBALL070358 at AOL dot COM |
