My 13 year old niece is wanting to do karaoke at her birthday party. I suspect a lot of the songs she's going to want will be fairly new and possibly not even available for purchase in Karaoke format so I'm trying to come up with another way to make her Birthday :D

I recently picked up a VP KC-300 Pro. I realize VocoPro isn't regarded as professional quality by quite a few on here, but I'm using this for personal/home use.

The vocal reducer works really well and I was wondering if I could record songs played using it (via mixer) and then use some sort of software to add the graphics necessary to create the karaoke files and then burn them onto a CDG?

And NO this won't be a paying gig.

Why go through that hassle, when you can use the vocal reducer, and just google the lyrics, and print them out, so they can practice them, and STILL use them if needed when you give the party. Sounds like an easy fix to me.

In my experience a full vocal removal and syncing of lyrics goes to about 30 minutes a song. The first few times expect it to take as much as 4 times as long. It is hard to justify doing this for more than one or two songs for a single party.

Most of the popular new songs can be found for sale at one of the legal download sites.

Thanks guys so basically the answer to my question is yes. What type of software will I need for this?

Her party isn't until September so I've got some time and I thought it would be kewl to add in some back ground images or messages at the beginning/ending of th e songs that would be specific to her birthday.

Plus she'll have her own private little library of songs when she come's over to the house.
