Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has used the laptop stands with the cooling fans? and if so do they work well and what kind are you using?

the laptop stand that I use is not powered, but it allows for plenty of ventilation.

The best thing you can do, that most do not...is blow out the fan & cooling passages with compressed air from time to time.

You will be shocked at the amount of dust, lint and crap that flies out. Your laptop cools itself by radiating and transferring heat to the air. If the fins are covered in gunk, it can't transfer the heat as efficiently and shuts down, or worse burns up.

I use a Belkin laptop stand with a USB powered cooling fan. Works great. The case of the laptop stays cool. When not using it the case of the laptop becomes very warm.
