Getting ready to place an order and have decided on the 1202 VLZ3 and a SKB Roto Rack 10U x 4U case. The dimensions of the rack indicate 7 RU's, but was curious if the handle on the mixer is removable. I found a pic online that shows the rack ears stop at the handle. If it is removable then the mixer looks like it would only take up 6 RU's.

Anyone have a 1202 VLZ3 and know for sure?

I'm just Trying to make sure I can get all of the following in the case:

Top has 10 RU's
------------------------------------------
Key Control --------- 1 U
Controls for CDG -- 2 U
1202 VLZ3 --------- 6 U ?
External FX ---------- 1 U
______________________________

Bottom has 4 RU's
------------------------------------------
Power Cond. - 1 U
CDG Players - 2 U

Here are the rack ears you will need.

You may be able to find them cheaper like on ebay. That mixer requires about 7U max so that case is just fine with extra space. But depending on the depth of the other units you are considering for the top section, those may not work if you plan on closing the system for moving. When the top is closed, it gets real close to the other bottom mounted processors and may conflict!

Thanks Lonman

With the height/depth of that case and the configuration I'm looking at I think I'll be ok. The deepest piece of equipment I'll have is the KC-300 @ 12". If I mount it at the top/back of the case I should be fine. The dual players in the bottom are the deepest at 10" so they shouldn't even come close to each other.
