Which is better? I have some in just the paper sleeves, but I was thinking of transferring them to a "book", the kind with pages that take 4 CDs to a page. Would it be better to just leave them in the paper? This is for long term storage so they will not be frequently pulled from the book or the paper sleeves. |

I prefer jewel cases for storage. The books & sleeves can introduce particles that can scratch the discs when they get slid out. Little bulkier, but the best for storage. |

Sadly, the claims to "Forever Data Storage" seems to be a bit false.. I have/had several stacks of DVDs that refused to record.. I assumed it was the burner.. After careful inspection, the DVDs had some sort of fungus growing in the data area. Yes, they were stored in the container they shipped in.. And the roof has zero leaks. However, I do live by the beach, and every day the marine layer rolls in.. So much of my picture storage has degraded so they refuse to read.. |

I've kept my own cdgs for years in case logic binders without any problems. http://www.caselogic.com/search/index.cfm?N=4011+20047454 Don't go cheap on the binders if you go that route. I tried that once with a Radio Shack version and not only was it cheap and flimsy, I also found that it was starting to scratch the cdgs. I threw it in the circular file. |
