Post subject:  Need an mp3G player
Now that SC is releasing their songs in an mp3g format (30 titles per CDs), that means I cannot use my Pioneer PD-10G player to play these songs. Can you recommend a high-end reliable mp3g player, possibly a 1 rack space? Thanks!

Brian A I've yet to find a mp3+G stand alone player. There are a few out there that will do multi-format single CDG player and mp3+G via USB or SD card. Some even have on board hard drives.

I think most that have gone with that format already are using PC's and software for player solutions.

The V2Go 100 Plus is a multi-format machine that will read MP3+G discs or off a hard drive via the usb port. Price seems to be in the $100 -$130 range depending on where you buy it. Make sure you get the Plus model as the non plus version won't read MP3+G.

I've had one of the original machines for a number of years now and it has been holding up really well. I keep it in my rack so I can play my singers discs when they bring them in.

Many lower end consumer level players have MP3G capability, but have not seen any pro level rack mountable players with support.

I don't know, I wouldn't put the V2GO 100 in the low end consumer end unless you also lump in the CAVS, RSQ, Acesonic or even the old JVC and Pioneer decks and unlike the older machines the newer ones are designed to be rack mounted. The big difference is that the older machines (besides being build like tanks, both size and weight), were strictly CDG format where the newer machine are multi-format and because of that load a little slower. Prices have come down from the days when a Pioneer V10G ran $400+, now days you can get a good quality machine for under $150.

Just my opinion. :)

Oh I did not call it low level consumer, just said that many in that class are mp3g compatible. If you feel this is pro level, I believe you... Just havnt seen it myself.
