I like the idea of one T.V. facing the singer and another backed right up to it facing the crowd and would like to try it tonight. How would I connect the 2 TV'S so that they both show the lyrics, a simple easy way would be perfect if there is such a thing.. Thanks. |

Use a y cable if your input is composite or s-video. Try Radio Shack if you need it tonight. If you use a modulated signal, use a splitter from a dollar store. |

I tried a Y splitter and found the monitors were distorting. Couldn't use it. Then again that would not always be the case. It worked perfectly the first time I tried it. |

What type of signal are you running, standard coax, S-Video, Composite (RCA), HDMI, VGA? Cannot link to anything in particular without knowing more about what you exactly need. But you can get a video splitter in almost all of those configurations. |

Probelm is that you are outputting a set voltage to two sources in parallel instead of one. Also, the impedence will change, as the inputs are put in parallel. However, it can work, albeit not that well - depending on the tvs/monitors in question and their effect on each other and the output source. A modulated signal will be just fine, however, using a cable TV splitter. |

I do this. I have a monitor for me (which I can spin around for crowd coverage), because many time the singers monitor is too far away for me to ensure that all is right (if possible I use a 100 foot stage snake so I can mix from the front), and I can also send a feed to a house monitor, my projector, etc. I use a audio / video switcher (30 bucks at most any store; Wal Mart, Best Buy...). 4 inputs (I use them for the PC, the CDG - DVD player, my peep cam and a camcorder), and one out put channel (one yellow, one cable and one SVIDEO), you can split any of these a few times with good results. All of these are hot so you can send a split yellow, cable and SVIDEO out at the same time. I also have a little peep camera mounted on top of my monitor. Kind of fun to switch that over and ask the singer if their ready! |
