I am COMPLETELY new to the Karaoke scene. I have never owned one. Never used a microphone. I bought a DVX-890k karaoke machine. I hooked it up to my Yamaha receiver. I bought a new mic. I hooked everything up, and everything appears to be working, EXCEPT I can BARELY hear my voice when I sing into the mic. I want to "up" the mic volume, but I cannot find a way to just increase the microphone volume. There is no function for that. I have tried everything I can think of, and I searched this forum to try to find the answer and I cannot. Does anyone know why this is? I am at my wits end. I would REALLY, REALLY appreciate any suggestions you can provide. Thank you very much. |

Did you adjust the mic gain knob on the front of your player? |

Yes check the mic volume control on the front. Also how is the player connected to the receiver? Via a digital or HDMI connection or just using the standard RCA connections. If you are using the digital outputs, this will often cause no microphone as that signal is not passed through the digital output. |

yes, i did adjust that. it does not seem to "work". The sound is very soft that comes out regardless. |

I had a friend come and look at it. He said that the volume of the mic gets louder as the volume of the music gets louder. The mic volume on the front of the Vocopro player does not change the sound intensity. He thinks I need an amplifier in order to allow the mic volume to get louder than the karaoke music. Does this sound right? |

Sounds like the players mic inputs do not work properly. May want to exchange the player for another. |

You are hooking the mics up through the 1/4" jacks in the front, bottom left corner, correct? This player also seems to have some RCA jacks in the back that will hook up a mic, through I have never seen an RCA mic before. If you are hooking the mic up in the back to these RCA jacks, I would not be surprised if the mic volume controls from the front are not applicable to this RCA section. Maybe the player came with a cheap RCA mic? Go spend $15 at your local music store to get a mic with a 1/4" output and hook it up to the front section and you should be able to use the preamp volume controls. |

Agreed. It does sound a little bit like mic. impedance. |
