Hey gang, I was recruited to DJ the HNI 25th 5 K run August 14th. I know, not karaoke but you are all so helpful. I need some approriate "running" type songs. Funny is ok, but must be clean. Ok obviously the Chariots of Fire song. Any other ideas? |

U2- Where the streets have no name. "I want to RUN..." RUNaway-multiple artists including dell shannon, and Bon Jovi. And there is this obvious song from Flock of Seagulls that I wont even mention. |

There's RUNAWAY from Jefferson Starship. The last 2 minutes of the song is mostly "run, run run runaway". for marathons i used to play Eye Of The Tiger (as mentioned), Chariots Of Fire Theme, The Stars Spangled Banner ar racetime and America The Beautiful from Ray Charles when the race began. |

Wow, great suggestions! I knew I could count on you folks! For some reason I had JA Runaway on my mind as I opened this up. Bruce, love that suggestion of yours! I'm doing this thing for $100 and a t shirt. Last guy had been doing it for a few years and doing it for free. He had a previous engagement. Only 2 hours, not much to set up and it's my company. They kept calling me until I told them my price. Starting at the riverfront park along the Mississippi river at 7:15 AM. Last year a member of our company sang the Star Spangled Banner and will do again this year on my system. I heard she is a gifted singer so that will be cool. Plus I'm coaxing my daughter to run in it, she won the Watermelon Stampede 10K race last year and I would love to call her finish! Thanks again!
