Was looking around Craigslist to see if anyone had any disks to sell and found this: http://hartford.craigslist.org/emd/1813403465.html I flagged the post as prohibited and sent them a message. |

The really sneaky variation that I have run across is someone who purports to sell their entire collection of disks. When you contact them, they say "I've decided not to sell, but I can give you a hard drive for $500.00". |

Why does SC not hit this guy with thier legal team instead of hitting the KJs that are trying to be legal. |

Because SC can make money hitting up KJs with no real court costs. |

How is it extortion by the manus if they are just getting paid what is really owed to them in the first place if you bought "unauthorized" music to start? (not saying You but the kjs that are not legal). Again, I am not trying to pick a fight but just want to try to follow the logic of your comment. |

Again, I am not trying to pick a fight but just want to try to follow the logic of your comment. Because of their methods as stated ad nauseum in other threads. It's extortion because it seems the only criteria they have of naming a defendant is the fact that they've played a SC song. Once you're named, you're either required to submit to an audit completely on their terms, including signing their absurd "contract", one item of which is admitting guilt, or they will sue you. If you refuse, it's going to cost you time and money in court. If you submit, you are admitting guilt and again losing time and possibly money. How is that not extortion? I won't go into it further as it has already been beaten to death. Either you understand or you don't and you are entitled to disagree with me, even if you are wrong. ( ) |

If you can prove ownership of the Sound Choice CD's, let them take you to court. Why would anyone submit to an audit if it means admitting guilt. |
