Outstanding, you would undoubtedly have the best karaoke rig around many towns. Of course you could blow it all by fronting it with cheap mics...but given your apparent taste I doubt you would make that mistake.

Nice respectable rig. You've certainly got the potential there for a real nice audio experience. Now just make sure you learn how to properly use all those nice little toys. Out of the whole rig, your weakest link is probably the Yamaha speakers, but they're still pretty damn nice (not saying there's anything wrong with them, just they are more of a workhorse than a standout). You should be kicking butt with that rig.

So you didn't tell us, what kind of mics do you have feeding that rig? *** I'M ONLY KIDDING, PLEASE DON'T ANSWER THAT QUESTION *** The last thing we need is another great mic debate.

Then it's official, great system. I'd love to sing on it.

Where do you do shows, if you do? I travel a good deal, and I love to get out to new shows.

When you say great mic, do you mean the Nady? I want to know what level of grade inflation we are dealing with here.

(Sorry, couldn't resist. I am just joking too.)

That's your home Karaoke rig? I know some bands who'd be jealous ;) Of course as I say this my current home karaoke/music room/entertainment center PA is a pair of Bose 802's a JBL 18" sub with all the bells and whistles that I had in my old Karaoke rack before I went digital. :)

Nicely done I say, complete with the Shure wireless mics. Nice!!

I guess he's not alone with a decent home system for live setup

- Zed 14
- Crown XTi2000
- EV ZX1
- KV2 KX subwoofer
- DBX 223xl
- TC Helicon Voice Works (also shared in my studio)
- Lexicon MPX 110
- DBX 266xl
- Seinheiser e845
- AT ATM41HE
- Shure PG-58

I also have another setup for my studio...

For the cables, well I guess everyone figured out what I'm using

It's all in the manner of what you want for sound. I run a Mackie CFX12 mixer, Lexicon MPX110 effects, BBE 442 Sonic Maximixer, Peavey electronic crossover, Bi-Amped Peavey CS1000X & QSC RMX1450 into Peavey SP4 (dual 15 cabs) & 18" sub with dbx & Symetrix compression in my basement. Appros 3000 watts total the way I have it set up. It's all a matter of what you want it to sound like!
Your setup is absolutely nothing to sneeze at & i've actually run sound for bands on less!

I know a guy in town who does DJ mostly.. he drags a trailer behind his Ford Explorer to carry all the racks and speakers he uses at every show.

The guy plays clubs that seat MAYBE 100 people and his rig just sounds like (@$%&#!) all the time. Just too much stuff for small spaces.

I've used a pair of S115v's (commonly called the Club Series) speakers for over a decade and played in a wide range of venues. They're more than adequate for KJ use and moderate DJ between singers use.

If you were to get into heavy dance/DJ music, i'd recommend adding a powered sub.

The S115V isn't going to be the 'audiophiles choice', but they're rugged, sound decent, and capable. I'd get a BBE Sonic Maximizer to slide in there, really opens up the sound in my experience.
